Linen bedding - the sustainable natural fabric for your bedroom

Your bedroom is a place to rest and relax. With linen bedding you give it a natural look and a harmonious mood. But what actually makes linen so special?

Why linen bedding?

Linen fabric is the oldest of all fabrics. But not only in past times the high quality and the and advantageous properties of the fabric were were appreciated. In recent years, linen is also making a comeback in the bedroom - and with good reason: the natural fabric is becoming more and more popular in recent years, because linen brings with it many advantages with which synthetic and also other natural fabrics cannot score.

What are the properties and characteristics of linen?
It's not just its heat-regulating and breathable properties that make linen a popular fabric. Because of its relaxed, crinkly look, linen is often used for decorative purposes as well, such as Cushion because it is precisely this characteristic that makes up part of its beauty. Here, linen fits perfectly into concepts such as Slow Living or Wabi-Sabi where imperfection, imperfection and naturalness are celebrated and appreciated.

Linen is particularly resource-friendly. No fertilizers, pesticides or additional irrigation are needed to grow the flax plant. In fact, only about a quarter as much water is used for the production of linen as for conventional cotton.

Is linen bedding only for the summer?

Fresh in summer and warming in winter - This is how linen is often described, but why is that? Linen is breathable and can absorb up to 20% of its own weight in moisture before the material feels wet. If you sweat in the summer, the fabric wicks moisture away from your body and then allows it to evaporate. This keeps the skin dry in summer and the fabric unfolds its cooling effect. In winter, on the other hand, the fabric stores its own body heat and ensures pleasantly warm nights.

Is linen bedding suitable for allergy sufferers?

Linen quickly releases absorbed moisture, so that no bacteria or other allergens can collect in the fibers. The fabric is therefore excellent for allergy sufferers and people with sensitive skin. In addition, linen is antistatic. This means that the natural fabric I not electrically charged, as is often the case with synthetic fabrics.
