Palo Santo (holy wood) is said to have healing powers and can transform negative energies into positive energies. When smoked, the wood exudes a pleasantly warm, woody aroma and a sweet, fresh scent. The scent that emanates comes solely from the resin contained in the wood itself.

Bundle with 3 sticks (10 cm) and instructions. Our Palo Santo is guaranteed to be sustainable, as only dead wood is collected.

Story

Palo Santo wood is said to connect us with "Pacha Mama", Mother Earth, provide inner clarity and harmony, promote creativity and give peace and serenity. When burned, the wood exudes a pleasantly woody and balanced aroma. It is used in particular for smoking rooms to fill them with positive energy.

Palo Santo comes from the Bursera Graveolens tree, native to the Andes, which naturally produces an aromatic, medicinal resin whose concentration increases with age. The tree lives for 4090 years, and after its death the wood matures for a further 410 years. Only then is it consecrated as "holy wood".

How to use Palo Santo: Light the sticks on one side and fan them with air to make them glow. Then gently wave the flame out again. The typical Palo Santo fragrance is released as the wood burns out, creating a fine thread of smoke that spreads the natural essential oils of the wood throughout the room. To cleanse a room, walk through it with the smoking Palo Santo. The Palo Santo piece is then placed in a fireproof bowl and left to burn out. For safety reasons, the smoking area should always be monitored. Palo Santo wood is extremely productive, as the Palo Santo wood stick can be lit many times until it is completely charred.

Product details

Origin:

When buying Palo Santo, it is important to ensure that it comes from sustainable sources in order to protect the environment and respect the traditions of the harvest. In Peru, the Palo Santo tree is a protected species and trade is highly regulated. Our Palo Santo is harvested without harming the tree by only removing dead wood from the forest. It complies with the extremely strict export regulations of the Peruvian Customs and Ministry of Agriculture.

Processing is carried out by hand by local communities, who carefully split the wood into small pieces. This approach is particularly sustainable as no trees are damaged. Another advantage: naturally fallen branches contain a higher concentration of essential oils than wood from plantation trees. As farms usually use younger trees, their oil content is significantly lower than that of wild-grown palo santo trees.
