Our basketry from Rwanda are colorful masterpieces of traditional African wickerwork and at the same time celebrate high-quality, modern design.
No two baskets are the same, because each twist and wrap is made entirely and precisely by hand from sweet grass, which takes hours! Depending on the size and shape, it can take a weaver between 60 and 70 hours to make a basket!
Our partner Indego Africa works with groups of women artisans in Rwanda and Ghana, providing women and youth in these communities with the training they need to build and sustain an independent livelihood.
