Palermo Hand Weaving

"Our master weavers draw on the experience of entire generations before them. Together we develop new, textile expressions that bridge the gap between tradition and modernity."

Sofia, designer and founder

Palermo is to Buenos Aires what Mitte is to Berlin:

Hip, historic, design-heavy, chic and even green. Porteños (locals) gather here to eat, shop and party, with a vibrant nightlife and some of the best restaurants, bars and cafés in town.

In the liveliest and largest barrio of Buenos Aires, our weavers' workshop is hidden away. Between culture and coolness, true works of art are woven here in a fair working environment.

The weavers who create the unique textiles in our Palermo collection live in urban Buenos Aires, where craftsmanship is highly valued and immigrant women form weaving collectives. Inspired by the multiculturalism and inventiveness of Argentina's largest city, modern designs and techniques are incorporated into the products.

In our Palermo collection, the texture of Patagonia's finest hand-spun wool speaks for itself. The incredibly soft 100% merino wool blankets and cushions, with their ornate, long fringes and coarse, textured weave, are jewels that will give a lifetime of pleasure.

Sofia, the founder of the weaving studio, wants to convey a feeling of security in each textile with her weaving technique: "Our textiles are meant to encourage you to pause and relax. The characteristic weaving technique comes from the high art of weaving with which each product is handmade by experienced hands over many hours. Our master weavers draw on the experience of entire generations before them. Together we develop new, textile expressions that bridge the gap between tradition and modernity."

The production time for a single cushion is one day, and a blanket is made in 1.5 days. The artistry and love of craftsmanship are reflected in each of these masterpieces.
